Fenben cancer treatment has gained interest following anecdotal reports of a deworming medication curing cancer. This drug, also known as FBZ or Panacur C is normally used to treat parasitic worm infections in dogs but when combined with vitamins appears to be effective against certain types of cancer.
Several research studies have found that combining fenben with vitamins can significantly reduce tumor size in mice. A study using xenografts (human cancer cells implanted into animals) found that fenbendazole prevented the growth of cancerous tumors in the animals. It works by preventing the cancer cells from taking in glucose, their primary fuel. It also destroys microtubules which support the structure of the cancer cell and prevents them from dividing and multiplying. It also boosts production of a gene called p53 which kills cancer cells.
These findings are encouraging for those suffering from a variety of cancers but it’s important to note that the medications are not approved by governing bodies such as the FDA for human use. A doctor should always be consulted before adding any supplements or drugs to your regimen.
The fungus killing drug is currently being tested for its anticancer properties in humans. The results from these trials are expected to be published in 2024. If the drug proves to be effective, it could save time and money that would be needed for a new cancer drug to be developed.
